My 2 seconds of fame!

March 22, 2011

Yesterday morning I caught the first train to Boston. I dropped my stuff off to work and jogged over to Castle Island for my WBZ news video shoot!!

I decided to wear my black Adidas running tights, pink Nike running hoodie and brought shorts and a tank just in case. The person I talked to kind of made it sound like I should wear a summery outfit and warmup clothes over. I was kind of nervous I’d be running outside in summer clothes!

I met up with the WBZ crew and realized that a fellow running club member, Javier, was there too! And I found out, WHEW, I could wear my winter clothes! They were actually glad because they shot some people in more summery clothes last week and they wanted a different shot this time.

We headed over toward the water, and I had to run back and forth. The camera guy got some footage. Before I started running, I asked “Do I just focus on running, or look at the camera?” I was to focus on running. Did they realize that when I focus, I breath like I’m in a Lamaze class trying to breath? So I don’t know if they will actually use that shot!

After my turn, Javier ran a bit. Lastly, we ran together. I felt the most comfortable then because I could just talk to him!

The shoot was quick, an hour total. Then Javier drove me to work!

I got out of Javier’s car and saw a coworker walking to work so I ran over to him and jumped in front of him in a flying starfish pose. Yup, my coworkers love me haha.

The Boston Marathon promotion should be playing at the start of next week and will play up until the marathon! WBZ wanted to show that normal people, not just the elite, run marathons. That we train in all types of weather. That we are all different shapes, sizes, and ages. I think this was a great idea! They might be sending me a clip. If they do, I’ll post it! :)

Total mileage: 3.5 miles?

Time: Don’t know! I forgot my Garmin :(

Do you think you could be an actor?

Maybe (I like to think I can do anything if I put my mind to it! But not right now! I think I would get camera shy!

Do you goof around with your coworkers?

Yup. ALL the time!

Do you have a good camera suggestion?

Mine is broken! I want one so I can post more pics on my blog! My iPhone camera isn’t cutting it! And my blog feels bored without pictures!

  1. how cool for you girl :) thats super exciting! you totally should be an actor ;) I always goof around with co-workers. laughter is the best medicine right? Have a great Tuesday my dear!

  2. Sounds like so much fun!! What a fun morning you had. Hope you get to see some of the pictures and share with us. I could never be an actor, but I love pictures – I need a new camera too!

  3. I was in the commercial last year! You can see it on the bottom of the NACHO home page here! http://www.nachoac.org I am in the group shot of the runners with two other NACHOs!

Sounds like you had fun! Can't wait to see it!

  4. That's so cool you could be in the Boston promotion! I am way too shy to be an actor…seriously, I'm so shy I had issues deciding to start a blog, so I don't see acting in my future. As for a camera I know Canon has some good point and shoots as well as some of the fancier ones. I used my roomies fancy one this weekend and I wanted to steal it!

  5. Very cool-I will keep a look out for this!!

  6. Stefanie

You are totally famous! I hope they do send you a clip, because I would like to see it! My co-workers are kind of serious…and I am kind of the funny one…I'm a little bit alone on that one. LOL. I don't think I could be an actor, because I am really bad at memorizing things. Haha.

  7. ooh, that sounds so cool. You will be famous for sure :)

  8. Awesome! hope your footage airs. I goofed around with coworkers more at my graduate assistantship. Me and my coworkers got very comfortable over my 3 years there, so we did stuff to eachother all the time (The Office-like pranks, "borrowing" a cut out of my grad school's mascot and placing it in a coworker's office, etc). I've goofed around a little bit at my real job, but it's not quite the same environment.
