I really wanted to connect more with my readers. I decided it would be awesome to interview you! I got a few responses already and am really pumped!
I think I’m going to incorporate it into my weekly posts! So if you have already sent me answers, I’m going to post them in the order I received them!
First one up is That Runner Chick!
My father has been a triathlete for most of my life. Through that, I was introduced to and worked for a company that put on triathlons in the New England area for about 13 years. I was around active people a lot. My father ran with me when I first started, to motivate me. I started working at a bike shop when I was 21, and that was when I bought my first bike. I didnt ride often until I met my husband. He is a triathlete (we met at a triathlon!), and we would ride/run a lot together when we were dating…he is too fast for me now!
Couch to 5k is a great program to get into running, especially if you don’t know where to start. In the beginning, it isn’t about speed, it is about building up an aerobic base so you can go further!! For cycling…just enjoy it!
Always, always, spaghetti with grilled chick and a piece of bread! Easy on the stomach, and I love carbs.
5k’s are my favorite, by far! I am pretty good at suffering if it is for a short time. I am running my first ever half-marathon this month though, so maybe my favorite will change!
My favorite athletic accessory is definitely my Garmin 310xt. Love that thing! I have had a few GPS watches over the years, but this is my favorite by far. I do all my training by heart rate, which this tracks in addition to my pace. Love the software and online Training Center they offer to track progress too!!
Thanks so much for participating! I love how you and your husband met at a triathalon! 5K’s are more difficult for me because I don’t like having to keep such a fast steady pace for the entire race! Maybe they will grow on me! I am excited to hear about your first half marathon!!
