A Thai Favorite

July 3, 2011

When Dave and I used to live near the Prudential center, we would go to Pho Basil many times a month.  It was cheap and good food!  We were walking around the area on Friday night, so decided to hit up this favorite spot!

I really wanted a bubble tea, but they had no bubbles left!  Instead, I went for a sparkling limeade.  Once I finish the limeade, I usually pour water in and mush up my limes.

We always get the spicy rangoons with an apple sauce.  I used to love crab rangoons as a child, and these really hit the spot.  Most crab rangoons have too much filling (though some of you may think there is no such thing as too much filling), but these have just the right amount.

I am a huge spicy fan so I got the Drunken Noodle dish.  I love the wide noodles!  They can be difficult to eat with chopsticks, but worth it!

Dave got Kao Soi, which is a Pho dish.  Pho is a Vietnamese noodle soup that usually has beef or chicken and rice noodles, basil, lime, and bean sprouts (Source).  This particular dish is a little different.  It is described as a “northern style curry noodle dish with steamed yellow noodle, crispy chicken, pickeled vegetables, topped with crispy egg noodles.”  Dave and I both love the texture the crispy noodles add and the coconut flavor that the broth has.

Are you a spicy fan?

I love it!  I will sprinkle crushed red pepper all over my pizza, pasta, etc.  YUM!

Do you have a regular spot you go to that has good, decently priced food?

We haven’t found our favorite new go-to place in Somerville yet, but we will keep searching! :)

Do you have people think its weird to take pics of food?

I asked this before in a previous post.  Dave is still adjusting to the fact that I’m a blogger!  But my friends don’t mind it!
