Saturday night after my first day of RRCA coaching certification course, Dave and I headed to meet up at our fave wing place with Ashley and Derek. Dave was super pumped to see his ex-girlfriend Ashley (yup they used to date haha)
If you haven’t been to Wendell’s you should…
It’s pretty classy with its padded walls…
We never have to look at the menu, but we usually kid around and pretend we do. If you go to Wendell’s you can’t get anything but wings-it’s rule. And you can’t get the boneless. If you do…you are just lame!
We all usually get the same thing each time we go. Dave and I get the extra spicy, Ash gets the Sissy (regulars) and Derek gets the 3.5′s. Everyone but Dave gets the blue cheese. Dave teases us, but I really don’t eat blue cheese too much…so this is my excuse to! It’s so delicious!
We always get two baskets of fries to snack on. I put a handful of fries aside so that I can chomp on them while eating wings to help lessen the heat of the wings. The wings take a while to cook. Sometimes you will have to wait 45 minutes or more because they only have one fry-a-lator (which they state on the menu), but it’s all part of the experience. Wendell’s doesn’t always have the best service, but that’s part of the experience too! Wendell’s is about the wings, beer, and the conversation you get to have with your friends!
Our wings finally came and we dug in.
You can’t really stop eating them you just have to go. If you stop, your mouth gets so hot and it can be unbearable. Unless you get the Sissy wings like Ashley. Ashley was laughing because we were sweating and silent as we tried to down our wings.
The topic of ice cream came up. Someone said, who wants ice cream? Of course my hands shoot up and then so does Derek’s and so does Dave’s! We are cool.
Ash’s friends Amy and Matt showed up to join in on the experience. We headed out shortly after and went to Ashley and Derek’s house to enjoy a little bonfire. But before Dave and I headed over…we went to get ICE CREAM! The ice cream gatekeeper, aka Dave, said we could go get some!
We arrived at the house and there was a bonfire! Derek got a little carried away and decided to throw the dried out Christmas wreath into the fire-pretty awesome.
The fire was as tall as Derek! We just hung around and chatted while Monty would run back and forth trying to sneak sticks away.
It got really really late…ok not really late…just 10:30, but I wanted to head home to get some rest for my day 2 of RRCA coaching certification. I actually fell asleep in the car and tried my best to pretend I was awake. I did pretty well…I just used one word answers to Dave, but soon it was all over. I was out!
Do you put yourself through pain with spicy food?
I don’t know why…but I LOVE it! I love spicy food SOOOO much!
Do you have a “dive” place you like to go eat?

super fun!
sounds like a fun night! I do love a good, greasy dive every once in a while. Sometimes they're just absolutely necessary!
yumm!! I would get the sissy wings too
