Oops…I was supposed to write about this yesterday and the Ekphrasis post today for the HAWMC…but it’s ok, we will just flip flop them! Today’s post is about why I write about health/running.
I write about health and running because it serves as a diary for me. It can be scary because I put myself out there. Anyone can Google me and see who I am and what I’ve done. But the rewards are so much better than being worried about putting myself out there. I think of it as, if you don’t take a risk, you can’t reap the rewards. What are the rewards?
Learning from my mistakes. It may not be apparent to me where I got injured at the moment, but if I look back at my training I can see that yeah, I was overtraining, or I wasn’t getting enough sleep. Why did I PR? Oh that’s right, I worked my butt off doing my tempos and track workouts! Have I been eating healthy? Or did I indulge a little too much?
Sharing food recipes and finding new recipes! I also love sharing my passion and love for FOOD. I love experimenting with new recipes and keeping track of them on my blog. People always ask me for my recipes, and I can just say, “Check out my recipe page on my blog!”
But I have to admit, that one of my favorite parts about blogging is that I can connect with people who have similar passions and experiences as me. I’ve also gotten so much encouragement and advice from readers out there. More importantly, I’ve met so many great friends. I met my friend Sarah through DailyMile, she taught me swim drills, and I taught her how to change her first bike tube (see her triumphant below! ) and has become such a great friend…we talk pretty much everyday. Crazy huh?! And, I am met up with a few friends from DailyMile for dinner and drinks last night! I love it!
Why do you write about health?
