Paintball Outing

April 28, 2012

My senior year of college I had gone paintballing with my friends.  Then when I first starting working I thought it would be fun to gather some coworkers.  I’m proud to say that this is our 3rd year going paintballing!

The day started early at 7:30 AM hitting the road.  Carrie and I drove together and Dave followed behind so we could pick up some of our other friends.  I was navigator.  Let’s just say, I don’t think I should be navigator.  When I run races, I’m lucky that I finish.  I just follow the crowds and if it weren’t for them I’d end up in the woods stranded someplace.

I had the directions up on my iPhone and the route seemed a little funky.  We got to this odd side street and I realized…”I  AM ON WALKING DIRECTIONS!”  Oops!  Carrie and I laughed and then switched the directions to driving.  We finally made it to 93S and got to the paintball field even a little early!

The gates weren’t open yet so the cars started to
accumulate.  Around 9:30 we were let in.  We suited and booted.  It was a little cold at first, so we all made sure we had our layers and gloves on.  Eventually it started to warm up and I was actually getting a bit hot!

All in all-it was a great time!  I was proud of myself because I was making more of an effort to move forward and make some attacks.  I got out many times, but I am tough so I didn’t let it phase me!  The head of our IT department even shot me in the head twice (thanks Dan! haha).  He had warned me though that he was going to get his anger out on the field!

Have you ever gone paintballing?

If you haven’t-you should at least try it once!  Reserve the field for you and your friends that way you are all on a level playing field.  Some of those youngin’s come in with there fancy guns and even holsters with extra paintballs…watch out for them!

Do you do fun activities with your coworkers?
