Friendly Friday

As I had been talking about earlier this week, some college friends of mine were coming into town this weekend. We didn’t really have any set plans but the weekend started off fun.  I had a work site visit in the morning and then I met up with my friends at Harpoon Brewery!

I was telling a story and of course using my hands and probably was doing some sort of dance, and I accidentally hit Dave’s glass. It spilled on both my friend Greg’s face and all over my leg! Dave was a little upset at first because he looked like he party fouled but he was a good sport. He knows that I knock things out of his hands when we are simply brushing our teeth-never mind when I’m really excited to talk to my friends I haven’t seen in a long time!

I have to say that my fave was the Harpoon Dark. I love porters and this tastes like one but is lighter in texture so I could have more if I wanted to!

After the tasting we got some appetizers at a nearby bar and hung out to strategize our plan. We were going to try to play some billards at Felt but they were closed today for “unexpected reasons.” Instead we headed to dinner early and stood in line. Greg had been to Giacomo’s in the North End before with his girlfriend Sue before and they loved it!

The line was not too long but because the restaurant was so small, it took a whole to get seated, especially with six people!  Greg got us all the antipasto appetizer for us which was pretty yummy, but it didn’t compare to my dinner.  I got the 1/2 lobster, mussels and clams with a fra diavol0 sauce.  It was absolutely amazing, a large portion, and only $20!  The sauce was so good.  I just want to eat some right now!  Rob got the same thing, but failed miserably when he tried to crack the lobster shell and he spilled the fra diavolo sauce all over his pants and shirt!  PARTY FOUL!  Luckily he had some friends by his side to laugh at him and made it all worth it!

After dinner, even though we were stuffed (Bryce…were you stuffed?) we still had to make at trip to Mike’s Pastry for some gelato, and Greg even got a cannoli too!

We are headed out for some more fun now.  If only the sun would come out to play!  I guess we will just have to make our own sunshine.
