I got really excited and thought it was a marathon in 8:30 pace…I was wrong…it was a mile in 8:30…Regardless…IMPRESSIVE!
In 2010, Runner’s World featured Owen Duff who ran a 9:22 mile in a bomb suit (read the article here). Pretty amazing huh?! Well in the July 2012 issue of Runner’s World, Daniel Glenn had to outdo Owen as he found his strong and raced to benefit wounded troops and their families. He not only ran
this marathon…he ran it with a pace of 8:30!!!! HOLY COW!
I remember I was just trying to get an 8:30 pace for my regular marathon… never mind with an extra 85 pound suit on me! This is super inspiring…especially as I know he must have been very uncomfortable. Runners tend to like to run in the least amount of clothes as possible without offending someone to keep cool and be flexible…not have their body heat be trapped around them! I don’t know about you, but I’m impressed!
What is a marathon story that you found impressive?
