Yoga Failed Me

June 5, 2012

Last night I went to a Vinyasa flow class with Aaron Cantor at Back Bay Yoga to loosen up my hips.  Unfortunately, I didn’t really like the class.  I felt like it lacked the flow that some of the other classes I’ve been to have had.  The class did have a few poses that really challenged my balance and I could tell my hips were weak, but my body was really craving something else from this class.

I think that I like Samara Yoga studio and instructors better.  But I might be a little biased because my hips were really not feeling this class last night.  They hurt a lot and there were many times I had to adjust my position or get out of a position because of the pain I was in.  This might have influenced my opinion of the class/studio.  I also found out that running capris = not good for yoga capris.  As I was doing some sort of roll in the class, the zipper from the butt pocket dug into my back really deep and I almost yelped in the middle of the class.  The strange thing is that this has happened many times and I still have not learned my lesson to not wear my running capris to yoga class!

Originally, I was going to swim tonight but because of the pain that I was in last night, I am going to use today as a rest day and run some errands after work.  Luckily, I have my crock pot Korean beef tacos (which is cooking in my crock pot as we speak!) on the menu tonight to look forward to tonight!

Has how your body felt affected your opinion of a class or sport before

What is something you look forward to today?
