I did the P90x core synergistics workout again last night. I was so tempted just to run for the heck of it but my hips/butt are pretty sore. I really can’t wait until my sports doctor appointment but it’s not until July 30th! I tried to get it sooner but they were booked through August. It’s bittersweet because I was kind of hoping my hips would hurt when I saw the doctor so they could figure out what is wrong, but at the same time I hope I’m better by then! Well see what happens!
I had to head into work early this morning to get some things done for a side project and I have a dinner after work for a running friend headed off to Texas for med school. So, today may be a forced rest day, which is probably good for my hips.
Good news is-it’s been easier to sit on the exercise ball at work for longer periods of time. I think this could mean my core is getting stronger. If my main problem with my hips is a muscle imbalance, I could be on my way to getting better! The only thing that is a little worrisome is that they still have pain and I’m no sure a muscle imbalance would have this. I have to do some more reading and research!
I think I’m going to get the Kindle edition of Runner’s World Guide to Injury Prevention but I”ll probably read some reviews to see if there are any other books that might be of interest!
Does life get really busy where you have forced rest days?
In the past, I’ve been pretty good about still getting workouts in even when I’m swamped. Now that I’m still injured, I tend to take the rest days in hopes that I’ll be better sooner!
Do you love to do research about running, injuries and working out?
Yes! I absolutely love learning about how the body works and how it can be optimized!
