Stretching and a Diet

July 6, 2012

Yesterday, my hips and piriformis were not happy at work. They started to really ache and it was getting really uncomfortable. I was glad I didn’t bike to work because this would have made it worse.

When I got home, I got grumpy and then did something about it. I threw in the P90x stretch DVD and got going. I felt better but did some foam rollin and additional stretching too.

I have been slacking lately with the stretching and my body must have decided to remind me to get back at it. So when I got up this morning and my legs felt super tight, I did some foam rolling and stretching. I will do some more tonight, use the Stick a bit at work, and hopefully get a workout in of some sort after work. I’m hoping to make a yoga class at Samara Yoga and then do the P90x ab ripper workout. I have been feeling a little blah lately with my lack of exercise.

But at the same time, I keep forgetting how I’m not running and eating like I did in the peak of marathon training, like with this Flour Bakery cookie and watermelon basil seltzer.

I need to start monitoring my food intake because I’d like to try to stay fit and eat healthy. I’m not going to diet to lose weight but just try to limit the sweets and junk food intake. Time to buckle down on using MyFitnesspal!

But perhaps I’ll buckle down after the wedding I’m going to on Saturday! Special occasions call for special food and drink!! :)

Do you have a lot of weddings this summer?

I have a wedding every month from now to November (with the exception of September)!

Have you had a time you really had to watch what you eat?/strong>
Not really. I’ve always been pretty active so could eat what I wanted. So it’s a little tough for me to remember that I’m not burning 2000 calories on a long run or even working out some days.
