Sunday Relaxation = Puppies, Candy, Lemonade

July 15, 2012

Sundays are usually not too crazy for Dave and I. We like to try to decompress and relax a bit before the hectic week begins. We went to bed pretty early last night…almost embarrassing early. I fell asleep as my Tough Mudder teammates were watching Old School so Dave and I decided to head to bed around 9pm. We were both exhausted from crawling in all that mud and climbing walls, etc. :)

We woke up around 8 and then started to pack up for our ride home. I was really craving an egg sandwich from someplace, and we luckily found Sweeties which was a nice local place that had delicious, legit egg sandwiches-we didn’t have to settle for the Dunkin Donut’s pre-made egg. But the best part about Sweeties is the puppy that was there. I really want a pet, but we aren’t allowed to in our apartment, so I love any chance I can get to give attention to furry little friends! (PS. All dogs = puppies to me…no matter age!)

Once we got home, we did our food shopping and threw our dirty clothes in the laundry. When I say dirty clothes…I mean DIRTY clothes. I guess when you crawl through mud pits for a couple of hours, you should expect to have dirt falling out of your clothes. Before I threw them in the washer, I rinsed them out good in the shower.

Then Dave and I had to try to find a car mechanic. Dave’s car was making some pretty bad sounds and were pretty much expecting a wheel to pop off at any moment. We weren’t sure if we’d make it to Vermont or home from Vermont this weekend, but luckily it lasted until we got home. We finally found a place that was open on Sunday and Dave ran in to see if they could help. I stayed in the car and decided to snack on some Swedish Fish I had in my purse. Dave teases saying I always have some sort of bag of candy with me at all times.

The car mechanic said he could take a look at the car, so Dave and I went for a walk to Pemberton Farms because I wanted to pick up some Darrell Lea soft eating liquorice. My friend introduced this liquorice to me and it is very addicting! Plus, I was almost out of Swedish Fish, so I had to restock! :) We found out they had an interesting beer selection and are going to have to re-visit again to give some of them a try!

On our walk back to the car shop, we decided to stop into Capone’s to give their lemonade with lemon ice cubes a try since it was blistering out there! I loved the lemon ice cubes because it didn’t water down the lemonade and because I drank my lemonade so fast, I was able to mush the ice cubes so they were kind of like a lemon slushy!

Now time to do some odds and ends…pick out tomorrow’s clothes, make lunch for tomorrow, prep some food for dinners this week, and try to stay cool!

Do you drink your drinks really fast?

I drink and eat really fast! I must think that the food is going to get away from me or something! I need to work on savoring the food longer!

Do you do a lot on Sundays or use it for more of a relaxation/catch-up day?

Summers tend to be crazy so I like to try to take advantage of the time that I can relax to relax.
