Sweat and Pizza.

July 3, 2012

Guess what!!! I biked to and from work yesterday!!!! It felt SO good to have a sweaty workout again.  Check out that sweat stain on my shirt! :)

I plan on trying to bike to work as much as I can to save money on the T and also to get some cardio/strength in.  I’m excited that my hips haven’t hurt in a few days because this means I really am healing and can work on phase 2 of my plan, strengthening.  One way to work up my strength…is with carb loading with pizza from Flatbread and bowling!  I love their menus because they have drawings from little kids.

Their pizza was really good and they have gluten free crust for Carrie!  Dave, Rob and I split the two large pizzas with half and half and Carrie got a gluten free cheese pizza.  Definitely delicious and I want more!!!!  Good thing we couldn’t finish the pizzas because now we have some great leftovers for lunch today!

Another bonus points for Flatbread is that they have gluten free beer!  Carrie and I both got the Bards gluten free beer.  It tasted pretty good!

Once we stuffed our faces, we were going to burn off some calories with some bowling.  None of us really go candlepin bowling so it was definitely interesting…

The first hurdle was figuring out how to score the game because we had to do it manually!  GASP!  Manually?!  No technology?!  Let me tell you…we all read those directions multiple times and felt very disappointed that a mechanical, civil, and electrical engineer, and a scientist could not figure out how to do this scoring.  We just prayed no one would get a strike or spare because we were befuddled on what to do with this scoring.  Luckily, no one was really great at candlepin, but we had some fun!  This place is definitely a cool place to check out if you haven’t already!

Do you like big ball bowling or candlepin?

Big ball bowling!

What is your favorite pizza place?

Figs is probably top and then Flatbread may be a close second!

I remember when you and Liz took me candlepin bowling and I was so confused! It was definitely fun, but regular bowling is way better and easier.
