Don’t worry-I didn’t propose to Dave yet! I’m giving him some time before I make my master plan!
My big news is that I quit my gym BSC last night! Kristina and I have been scheming about this and finally decided to make it happen! Goodbye good ole BSC! I accept the challenge of finding a way to stay fit without a gym, do you?!
I was expecting it to be frustrating and a hassle, but the employee helping me cancel my membership actually didn’t haggle me to stay! Whew! I actually sat there and thought, “You aren’t going to fight for me?!”
I don’t have anything against BSC and I enjoyed having so many convenient BSC locations to visit with some great classes. I actually am planning on making it there tonight for a swim (once you cancel you have 30 days until your membership is fully terminated). I know-I’m a really crazy one on Friday nights! haha
My main reason for quitting was that I have been doing so many workouts at home, going to yoga studios, or finding Groupon/LivingSocial or other deals for classes (like my Btone Fitness class deal) that I just haven’t been making it to the gym as much as I should for the money that I’m paying.
The downside of not having a BSC membership is that the pool will now be a little more difficult to get to. But there is a pool a T stop away from my apartment that I’m going to check out. It is supposed to be less busy and also cleaner!
But for the most part this work out at home challenge should be super easy because I have been doing it pretty much since Boston Marathon. And in addition to my yoga block and light weights I just purchased, I also just got my ORANGE Gaiam yoga strap and yoga mat cleaning spray in the mail! I’m ready to keep on moving with my YogaGlo classes and soon to be GaiamTV classes!
Wednesday night I did a quick 10 minute YogaGlo core workout that burned and finished with my favorites-pigeon, happy baby, and lizard pose. Last night I completed a 60 minute YogaGlo “Regain Hip Flexor Flexibility” workout by Jo Tastula. She started off saying that this workout was good for those people who sit all day at work and I thought, “Ding ding-that’s me!” I could definitely feel the difference in my hips after the workout and it also opened my eyes that my hips are still super tight. Good thing I like yoga! My 30 day yoga challenge will be easy as pie!
What is your favorite way to stay fit at home or on the go?
Obviously running! But I am loving yoga and so excited about how I am getting stronger. I know I can get my 3 hour marathon someday. Dave wants to run one too so we are going to try to do it together!
Do you have an off and on relationship with a gym?
I pretty much have always been a member of a gym so this will be an interesting experience!

I want to try out this 60 minute hip flexor video! Since you still have the INSANITY disc you'll find that the recovery DVD has a lot of hip flexor strengthening moves and some basic yoga poses.
I've never paid for a gym before just because I get all shy in front of people. I usually just run around my neighborhood and then do strength training at home. hoping to add some yoga one day into my workout.
