I love running!

August 21, 2012

Last night I decided to bail on the Fort Point Fitness boot camp because I wanted some company and no one could make it with me. I really have been craving some of the Darrell Lea soft liquorice so I decided to jog/walk over to Pemberton Farms to pick some up. This stuff is addicting!!

I figured I would end up walking a lot because of hip pain…BUT I jogged the whole way there! I made it a mile, picked up the goods and then jogged home! I made it 1.8 miles without a ton of pain! I felt a little sore, but not like the last time I went for a run.

Patience is the key to get back to running! My hips and butt still hurt from sitting all day at work but I can tell from this jog that my hard work in this recovery phase is paying off. When I got home I was really motivated by my pain free jog to do more yoga and strengthening, so I did Jillian Michael’s Yoga Meltdown Level 2!  And I’m pretty pumped for yoga tonight with a few friends. We are going to Lululemon’s Uncommon Yoga out in the courtyard near the Prudential. I haven’t been to this event before, but it looks pretty crazy with how many people attend and my friend really likes the instructor that will be there tonight. It will definitely be an experience!

Do you ever run errands while running?

I ran to the supermarket once and ran back with two bags full of groceries! haha

Do you get motivated to do more once you see some improvement?

YES! Hello-whenever I run a PR I just look for the next race to PR at! My goal now is to tone and strengthen my body so I look great and are strong enough to train long distance again!

I've never liked liquorice. maybe I need to eat the strawberry ones … good job on the run! I've never ran errands while running. Reason? I live far from everything. :(
