Instead of the Esplanade Association Sunset Yoga, I headed to LuLulemon’s Uncommon Yoga by the Prudential Center. I met up with my running friend Rachel and my DailyMile friend Laura and her coworker. During the class Laura snuck a pic of me doing yoga. Sneaky girl! But I love her for it!
The instructors were Joanna Benevides (from North End Yoga and South Boston Yoga Studios) and Todd Skoglund (co-owner of South Boston Yoga). Todd started it off fast and incorporated lots I poses that strengthened and then Joanna slowed it down so that we were doing really deep stretches. It still amazes me how flexible people are sometimes! I hope I get that far in my practice some day!
We all were pretty much yoga super stars. So many people who passed by us were either taking videos or pictures. They were amazed at the sight of so many people doing yoga outside in public! Maybe they should join us sometime! In this class, I realized that my running clothes are not always the best for yoga. My baggier Ragnar shirt would show my belly or ride up when I was doing certain poses. I also only have two pairs of pants that I can really wear for yoga. Hmm…excuse to buy some new workout clothes? I think this may be!
Weekend mission = yoga wear!
Once I got home, Dave and I ate leftovers from our lasagna-yes we were being cheap and trying to get the most out of our Monday dinner!
Then Dave asked me if I wanted to go to iYo! What a silly question! I know I still have to adjust my eating habits since I’m not running or doing as much working out, but who can turn down iYo?!
This reminds me…I am once again supposed to go to boot camp tonight but may do a workout closer to home so it doesn’t seem like I’m getting home super late. And I am strangely excited for trying to get in a morning swim tomorrow!
If you ever have been injured, what type of workouts have you done?
This is my first serious injury-so lots of yoga and I am hoping to start swimming more often.
What workout are you looking forward to this weekend?
I am hoping to try to jog a little on Sunday!
Have you ever had to adjust your eating habits due to injury? Was it tough?
