I attended my second Btone Fitness class last night and loved it once again! This time the instructor was Kristen.
(PS please disregard the huge bump on the top of my head. Let’s just pretend it is there due to the intense workout and not my inability to put my hair up!)
I love being able to see improvement in my workouts-whether it be a faster race or lifting more weight. It means my hard work is worth it. And in this class I could tell my hips are getting stronger. Some of the moves that were really difficult the first class were a lot easier this go around. But there still were a lot of old and new moves that I could use some work on-which gives me something to aim for!
These Btone Fitness classes are awesome because I feel muscles work that I never knew could work. I never knew my obliques could work as hard as they do here! When I went to my first class the instructor mentioned how Btone allows you to work a lot of the side muscles that we often neglect and often lead to injury. So obviously I am glad to work the muscles that will help me prevent any future setbacks in my running! I also like to know that my arms are getting toned because I tended to avoid working them out in the past.
At the end of the workout, we did one of my FAVORITE yoga moves…PIGEON POSE! BUT on the megaformer!! We also did another favorite of mine-yoga lunges where you lean to one side and you can feel the stretch down the side of your body. I guess should really just say that I love yoga in general because all the poses have a special place in my heart for their own reasons!
This class was perfectly planned because it made a bad start to the week a little better. On Sunday our sink and dishwasher flooded, I jammed my thumb at the driving range, my jaw has been hurting for a week now so that it has even been difficult to eat and we found our pantry infested with bugs and had to throw almost all the food out! This class vetoed all that so that I can really get my week going!
Do you ever have a bad day and a good workout just makes it seem all better?
A workout seems to make everyday seem a little more complete! Especially on those days that aren’t going so well!
When was a time you saw improvement in your physical fitness?
A lot of my past improvements have been with running times. But now my improvement is with the ability to hold yoga poses and seeing less pain when doing hip strengthening!

I’m so glad that your workout vetoed the bad week! Sorry about all the bumps in the road but you are exactly right, a good workout is definitely good for the soul. My attitude was in the dumps and my run Sunday morning did wonders for me! The 60 degree weather didn’t hurt either!! Hurry up Fall!!!
Thanks Meredith! It's ok-I just remember whatever doesn't kill you just makes you stronger! They are just little things in the big scheme of everyhing!
Fall is not in Boston yet-still humid! wah wah. Can't wait for the perfect temperature!
