My friends Rosemary, Kristina and I decided to go to Exhale Spa for their second annual Namasday last night. What is Namasday? Well read on and find out!
My girls and I attended the FREE music yoga flow class with Amy Leydon (to the left of me). I kind of giggled when I saw this picture. It kind of looks like I’m photo bombing or photoshopped in because awkwardly close compared to everyone else!
Amy’s class was a slower flow with live music thanks to the Grass Gypsys. I haven’t been to a class with live music before and their voices and music was very calming. I love that I am able to enjoy slower flow classes. A year ago I would have been getting fidgety and thought that I needed to run around or something. Besides being oober relaxing and having a good flow, the class allowed us to work on our side crow pose. I was able to do it when my legs were off to the right but not the left side so I have some work to do! The class finished with an amazing shavasana that I might have almost fallen asleep during. Sometimes I wish I could just fall asleep in shavasana and be teleported all showered, cleaned, and teeth brushed to my bed. I’ll have to find a scientist to work on that for me!
After the class, the girls and I checked out what else Exhale Spa had going on. Well let me tell you…there was a trunk show with so many pretty and soft yoga clothes that I wanted to dive into a huge pile of them like I was a kid in a pile of fall leaves…but…I resisted so I wouldn’t get kicked out and told to never come back again. Exhale Spa really knew the way to this girls heart because there were also mini Boloco burritos, mojitos and free 10 minute massages! What an event! You get your workout on and then indulge! Hey-like I said-it’s ok to indulge!
The finishing touch was the grab bag for us! My favorite piece is the Sparkly Soul non-slip headband. The minute I put this on I could tell it wasn’t slipping like some of the other headbands I have had. I am definitely going to have to wear this baby when I work out!
But that wasn’t all that was in the bag! I’m super pumped to use some of the passes for Exhale Spa to supplement the 3 Exhale Spa Core Fusion classes from Gilt because now that I’m not a member of a gym, I can use whatever free classes I can get! The full spread of swag:
- Exhale Spa Complimentary Yoga Class Friends and Family Pass
- Exhale Spa Complimentary Core Fusion class
- Rent the Runway tote and $50 off your next rental
- Donna Karan Hoisery
- 10% off Erica Sara Designs jewelry
- $10 coupon for Splits59 Activewear
- Sparkly Soul Non-Slip Headband in PINK!
- Woolite sample and $1 coupon
- Vega One All-In-One nutritional Shake
- Vega Sport Pre-Workout Energizer (Lemon Lime flavor)
- Tata Harper Samples: regenerizer cleanser, resurfacing mask, and hydrating floral essence
So what is Namasday? It’s free yoga, food, drink, free swag and fun! You should definitely participate next year if you get a chance to!
Do stores around you host free event sometimes?
There seem to be so many free events around Boston-you just have to know where to look to find them! I don’t know if they will slow down once the colder season kicks in-but I hope not! City Sports and PrAna are actually holding some free yoga classes that I’m hoping to attend!
Are you always on the go? Do you find time to relax?
I used to be way more crazy and a “yes” woman, but I’ve learned to take some “Jess” time or “Jess and Dave” time.

I was in the same class as you last night! I thought I recognized you but I wasn't 100% sure. I was wearing a red top two mats behind you. It was a great class and the grass gypsys were fantastic!
That's so funny!! I didn't really notice everyone behind me haha I was in the zone! Are you going to go to the City Sports free yoga classes?!
Sadly the City Sports yoga sessions don't play nice with my work schedule! I did end up buying a 10-class pack last night at the discounted rate so I'll be going to get my "ohm" there more next month after I wrap up two half marathons that I'm ill-prepared to run!
