I am a firm believer that if you eat fairly healthy and exercise you can eat whatever you want in moderation. You only live once and should be enjoy some of the simple things.
When I am back running and trying to reach my 3:00 marathon goal, I will eat more strict but will still allow myself to eat those things I crave. I believe that if your body is truly craving something, depriving of it is not going to make it better. When you crave something your body is usually telling you that you need something. Now if you crave a huge brownie every day or multiple times a day-that is another story.
But life is too short to worry about every single pound or calorie. So that’s why I lived a little this weekend…
Mind you, there were also two helpings of ice cream cake my friend Ashley made but I ate it before I even thought of snapping a picture!
Do you calorie count?
I did when I was marathon training so that I could be sure that I was getting enough of the right calories to fuel my body. Training is tough work so you have to fuel it properly! I may actually get back to it so that I can get into the habit.
Do you believe in eating whatever you want but in moderation?
If I didn’t believe in this I think I would miss out on so many amazing flavors and experiences with friends! Plus it would add a lot more extra stress!

I only calorie count to be sure I eat enough.. I used to restrict myself (years ago) and it caused me to get very stressed and have really bad thoughts. So now I usually eat nice and healthy all week, then on the weekends I let myself indulge if I want.
I agree with moderation! I try my hardest to have everything in moderation not just food. And I don't count calories anymore. Let's just say I ended up having some problems. /: but if it works for others go ahead!
I've tried calorie counting at times, mostly just to understand food better. It's good to know what is in what we are eating. However, as a regular practice I'm not a fan. Of course the key/challenge is moderation.
