I still am going strong on my 30 day yoga challenge. I haven’t been blogging about every single workout, but you can check them out on my DailyMile profile if you are interested!
Last night I did a MyYogaOnline.com Yin workout with Sarah Harrison called Release into Self. I don’t always crave Yin, but when I do it is usually after a long day of work when I need to just slow things down. This practice helps me get grounded again and prepare for the next activity at hand which juts so happened to be a 2 mile jog. My jog was pain free and I went a little faster than the other times at a 9:30ish pace versus 10 pace but I made sure I didn’t get too excited and kept checking in to see what my body was saying.
I know it is important keep a strong core to help prevent injury so when I got back I did part of the 300 abs workout and finished off with some stretching. I didn’t do the whole 300 abs workout because I knew I had signed up for a 6 AM Btone Fitness class this morning and didn’t want to be too sore! Every time I go to that class my abs are burning!
But I have to be honest…yesterday morning I was struggling to get up and asking myself, “Why did I sign up for a 6 AM Btone class tomorrow?” But I was glad I did. Lisa kicked our butts and I feel wide awake. In this workout I really could feel my hip weakness. They started to feel a little burn…and not a good burn, so I backed off and did the easier version. More motivation to keep doing yoga and getting my body full repaired for future marathon training!
After getting showered and ready at my work, I enjoyed my pumpkin overnight oats and homemade pumpkin iced coffee…*sigh* delicious. I haven’t had overnight oats in a while so it was a nice touch to the morning and adding pumpkin….well we all know that I have become an addict with my pumpkin lasagna, pumpkin syrup, and pumpkin cider.
After work I plan on doing a yoga workout. My hips always get so tight after sitting all day so it’s a good habit for me to get into. If I good, I’d have yoga like meals-in the morning, in the afternoon and night! :)
Do you sometimes wonder why you get up early to workout and then realize how amazing it is?
That is usually every morning workout day! It always seems better to sleep but once you get out there it is worth it!
What is your favorite post workout breakfast?
I usually like overnight oats because they are cool and refreshing!

You're amazing! Your dedication to fitness is inspiring! This morning I took a 6am Barre class and I was so not happy about waking up at 5 but like you said it's such a great feeling when you're done. Oatmeal is my fav after workout meal but whole wheat flax seed walnut pancakes are what I reward myself with after a long run (10+ miles). You sure love Pumpkin.
Looking forward to meeting you at one of my classes soon little miss runshine! Thanks for all the btone shout outs! -Jody
