Now that I have finished my 30 day yoga challenge, my next challenge at hand is bootcamp!
I don’t have a gym membership anymore so I am always searching for fitness deals. When I saw a Bloomspot deal for Evolve Bootcamp for 3 days a week for a month for only $25 I knew I couldn’t pass it up!
Before bootcamp, I made sure to fuel properly. I had an english muffin with some peanut butter and a Vega Sport Pre-Workout Energizer that I had gotten from Exhale Spa’s Namasday’s swag bag. Vega Sport is an all-natural, plant-based performance enhancement supplements. The pre-workout energizer just so happens to be dairy, gluten and soy free! You are supposed to mix the packet with 1 cup of cold water and drink 20 minutes before exercise and you should have sustained energy, increased endurance and aerobic and anaerobic capacity.
To be honest…it looked a little scary, but it didn’t taste bad. I was energized for my workout and felt good throughout the entire time! I needed the energy too because I had to rush to bootcamp! I had decided to take the first T to work, drop off my clothes and lunch and then jog over to the Boston Common to meet up with the group. Well, the train was running a little late and I forgot that I can’t run super fast anymore. But because I was so nervous about upsetting the bootcamp instructor, I ran a little faster than I probably should have!
When I arrived at the meeting spot, I couldn’t find anyone. I had seen some people who looked like they might have been heading to bootcamp head towards the Beacon St side of the common so I jogged over there. For once my directional instinct was right! Once we did our warm up jog, we did some stretching and got right into our fit test.
Bicep curls with green resistance band – 23 (I think)
Wall Sit – 3:00
Push ups – 18
In and Outs (abs) – 50
Pull up bar hold – 1:00
Jumping jacks – 3:00 to find max heart rate
I forget what else we did but I felt energized and awake after this workout. I finished up with a jog back to work. Thank you Shelley for kicking my butt! I can’t wait to see what you have in store for me next! Plus I’m pumped that I found out that I can store my bag in her car while we do the workout! Now I won’t have to rush to work to drop everything off
I desperately need to work on standing tall when I take a picture! Next time!
What is your favorite pre-workout snack?
I usually have half a bagel with peanut butter or Laughing Cow cheese and a banana.
Are you an early, early workout person?
I have been an afternoon/night workout person lately, but I am going to try to get back into the morning swing of things! I got up this morning and did a 30 minute session of yoga. It was a great reminder of how much work my hips really do need!
