Yesterday was a great day for many reasons and one of those reasons was that some of my girls and I attended the Healthworks Workplace Warrior Challenge Kick Of Party.
When we checked in and asked what team we were, one of the employees of Healthworks legitimately squealed out of excitement! We knew at that moment that we were in-but at the same time, we didn’t want to be TOO confident!
We moved to the next table where we could go to enter the raffle to win a sweet Puma sports bag, heart rate monitor watch and a resistance band. I was really hoping I would win because I want to monitor my heart rate during this challenge! No luck in the raffle…BUT when I was at the table signing in…someone asked, “Are you Little Miss Runshine”?! I smiled and said yes! Definitely felt special right at that moment!
Then we ordered some fancy fall drinks and enjoyed some of the finger food. We got a little anxious once the Healthworks team got up to introduce the winning teams. When our team was announced as one of the winning teams, we cheered pretty darn loud and were super pumped. When we finished hearing all of our competitors, we started scheming about improving our nutrition, doing workouts during our lunch breaks, and just how close we are going to be after this experience.
My team has the perfect mix of people who are already active and those that aren’t that we can encourage everyone to keep at it. But don’t think that the active people aren’t going to get anything out of this! My hip overuse injury opened my eyes to how weak my body is overall and how desperately I need to strengthen my muscles if I want to continue running. And who wouldn’t want to be a little bit toner? I never seemed to have enough discipline to work my core or arms to tone them up enough and this is the perfect way for me to #getafterit! The competition is based on body composition and strength improvement-right up my alley right now!
In other news…the Gaiam yoga block winner will be announced later today!! You still have until noon to enter!
Do you have friends that motivate you to workout? Friends that you motivate?
I have both types of friends. I love that all my friends are unique in their own ways. I learn something different from each one of them!
What is your favorite way to be healthy?
Keeping an overall healthy lifestyle and living in a mindset that I don’t have to restrict myself from “bad” foods, just think bad foods in moderation!
