I finished my first week of GymPact and I made a whole $0.96! I knew I wasn’t making a lot but it felt good to get something! I got a little worried about my money not showing but I got an email saying that GymPact updates their numbers Monday or Tuesday.
You might think this is just play money in a game but NO-this is REAL money! Yup-I said REAL money! GymPact is linked to your credit card to charge you and you can cash out using PayPal. You might be thinking, “What if you have a work trip that you know you won’t be able to fit a workout in?” No worries-you can schedule a break! Or if you get sick or injured, GymPact is kind of like school where you can have a doctor or even your employer email GymPact and you will be exempt from your Pact until you are better!
The GymPact week is from Monday to Sunday and remember that you can only count ONE workout a day. If you have committed to 3 workout days and it’s already Friday, you better get that workout in on Friday, Saturday and Sunday by midnight that Sunday.
Because a lot of my workouts are at home workouts lately, I was a little nervous to whether or not I’d be able to get my last workout in. My back pains were preventing me from doing anything and I didn’t feel like having a doctor or someone email GymPact on my first week into it. Luckily, I got it done! After my massage at Be Well Boston, I logged onto Runkeeper and walked to work which took me 30 minutes (okay…under 30 minutes but I walked around the parking lot to get the last few in!).
If you join, keep in mind that you need a minimum of 30 minute workout for it to count towards your pact. Generally this is fine for classes that I attend but some of my runs are less than 30 minutes. GymPact suggests taking a cool down if you finish a run in less than 30 minutes. This a good idea because a warm up and cool down help prevent injury!
The RunKeeper integration was one actually of the reasons why I was convinced to join GymPact. I wanted to get back into running consistently and this would be a way to force me to run a few times a week! Some of my friends asked why I needed this motivation since I seem so active. Yes-I am motivated but there are some times that I really don’t want to workout just like everyone else! Having money on the line can help me actually get it done.
For instance, last week I really wanted to just sleep in but I knew if I did, I wouldn’t get my workout in after work. Then I’d risk stressing out towards the end of the week about getting a workout in. GymPact helped me get up and get a run in! Plus-I think that it is fun to try something new and see how dedicated I can be. To be honest, I had a membership to BSC and had a period of 3-4 months that I went zero times! That means I wasted up to $280! If I had GymPact, I would have gone to that gym at least a couple of times a week!
Are you up for the challenge? Join me on with GymPact using my link and we both can earn $5! That’s like maybe 1.5 iced coffees or one super fancy drink! If you don’t like it, you can always cancel (see how to here)!
If you have more questions about GymPact, check out their FAQ!
FYI-This post was NOT sponsored by GymPact! I am just really excited about something new and want to share my excitement!
What motivates you to get your workout in?
I get motivated by the fact that I am not only more efficient in my life (not just work!) but also feel happier and healthier if I get my workout in. GymPact helps me get motivated on those days that I might have felt just a little too tired or a little too lazy but I know I should get that workout in.
Are you a GymPacter? If so-what is your favorite thing about it?
Now I am! I love the fact that it really does provide me with some motivation!
