Bring on the Insanity!
July 6, 2012My friend brought in the Insanity DVDs for me to borrow. I am pretty pumped about it!
Running is definitely a different type of workout compared to Insanity, P90x, and general lifting. I know my body will feel much different after these workouts and I’m going to still miss the way I feel after a good long run, but I’m kind of excited about getting more tone and a different level of fitness!

Stretching and a Diet
July 6, 2012Yesterday, my hips and piriformis were not happy at work. They started to really ache and it was getting really uncomfortable. I was glad I didn’t bike to work because this would have made it worse.
When I got home, I got grumpy and then did something about it. I threw in the P90x stretch DVD and got going. I felt better but did some foam rollin and additional stretching too.

Simple Things
July 5, 2012After my P90X Core Synergistics workout and Dave’s long run, yesterday was a day of pure relaxation. Dave and I laid out in the sun, read, and then headed to the Country Store where we got some soda, smoked cheese and pepperoni to snack on.

And then the sun came out…
July 4, 2012I was a little grumpy when I woke up this cloudy morning after a bunch of rain had fallen. My piriformis had started to act up and it brought back bad memories of how bad my hips/butt could. I remember that burning sensation and how I hated sitting at work. Pain in the butt!
July 4, 2012I biked Saturday through Tuesday…
Saturday – 10 miles
Sunday – 7 miles
Monday – 12 miles total (to and from work)
Tuesday – 12 miles total (to and from work)
Dumb idea! I went from no biking to biking everyday and my left butt cheek is not a happy camper. I have a soreness/pain that I think is my piriformis muscle. I remember this baby hurting way back when in my training for Boston … [Continue reading]
