My new best friend told me the cold, hard truth. I have scar tissue build up on my plantar fascia, achilles and calf. When tendons get overused or pronate, they can slowly tear. In my case, I think it was a combination of the hillier runs and that I needed new running shoes. Once the tendons start to tear, scar tissue builds up to try to heal the areas. I went running the past 3 days. So far so good! I have been good about stretching, rolling and everything else I can do to help my foot heal.

I haven’t run in 5 days now. On my last run, I went 3 miles and my right foot and calf were hurting. I decided to lay off the running and either use the elliptical or spin. This weekend, I treated myself to a massage on Saturday in hopes to help my recovery. My muscles were really tight because some parts of the massage were pretty painful!
