PB+J Protein Smoothie

Smoothies are expensive. I am not proud that I have spent $14 on a large smoothie but sometimes I use them as motivation to accomplish goals or just to make life easier. If I need a little extra motivation to get the workouts I planned done or if work is really insane, it makes life easier to just have someone make the food for me. I don’t know what it is, but salads and smoothies always seems like they always taste better when someone else makes them!

Even though something might taste better when someone else makes them, when life is more normal I try to make as much food as possible to save money. One of my favorite smoothies is the PB+J smoothie at Barry’s Bootcamp. SarahFit used to teach at Barry’s and I was excited when she posted a recipe for this smoothie because it tastes like the real deal.

I ended up altering a bit so check out SarahFit’s PB+J Protein Smoothie from Barry’s Bootcamp if you want to try the original recipe before modifying. I don’t measure my ingredients but here’s an approximate measurement of what I use:

  • 1/2 cup frozen blueberries

  • 1/2 cup frozen strawberries

  • 1 scoop protein powder (Lately I have been using the Primal Kitchen Collagen Fuel Vanilla Coconut instead of a protein powder)

  • 1 tablespoon of peanut butter

  • 1 frozen banana

  • 1/2 cup spinach

  • 8 ounces of unsweetened vanilla almond milk

What’s one of your favorite smoothies? What is something you use for motivation to get a workout done?
